Whitney is coming to visit at the end of the month - I'm so excited! Not that there is a TON to do here, but I'm looking forward to having someone my age to go out with and I just miss my best friend! This Hawaii thing sounds pretty sweet in theory, but it's going to be crucially hard to be away from my friends for so long. Brady will turn 6 months old while she's here....I cannot believe that he's already so old!!
I was right about people kinda disappearing once I moved....the only person who keeps in regular contact from VA is Whitney - the rest of my friends that I talk to regularly are people who were already scattered through the country. It's sad....I didn't think I'd lose everyone, and maybe everyone is just busy - but it's August. It's "vacation month." I guess I just figured it would be easy to stay in touch, at least at first.
I have ticker's posted on my mommy message boards, but I figured I'd copy/paste them over here for my own quick reference. YAY that the time just keeps going by!!
Brady is doing well! He's starting to scoot in a circle and scoot backwards and he's getting stronger (just ask my scalp every time he grabs my hair). We practice sitting everyday - some days are good, some days aren't so good. He's learning, and it's REALLY funny on the "not so good" days when he just flops over, lol. Maybe that sounds mean, but I think it's funny!
Had to buy him a new carseat already - he's too big for the infant carrier already! I'm going to ask mom and dad to keep the infant carrier/carseat here for the next baby - it's gender neutral, so I will use it again, especially since there were no accidents in this seat and because I kept it in really good condition. I also bought a small umbrella stroller and some new toys - both of which will be going on the plane with us! The new toys are a given for the flight to keep him entertained, but the new stroller was a trial and error thing Whitney and I discovered when we went to Buffalo with Brady - my current stroller is fantastic, but it is TOO BIG for the airport. The new stroller is just a little umbrella stroller - perfect for the airport and quick errands now that I don't have the infant carrier anymore. UGH, it's going by too fast!!!
It's hard when you want one aspect of your life to slow down, but you want the rest of it to hurry up!
